How will AI/Automation change the industry?

With AI/ML set to make large inroads in a large number of industries, what does the SemiWiki community feel the coming changes to the semiconductor industry will be in both timeline and scope? Could it possibly increase due to increased demand for automation in outside fields or fall due to having a higher degree of automation than other fields and endeavors. Any thoughts or comments appreciated.
