Could AI/ML further automate chip fabs?

There has been talk of a shortage of workers for semi fabs, could part of the load be taken up by robotics teamed with AI/ML? With AI/ML advancing at a blistering rate, the age of extreme automation may be coming upon us. Could this trend not only improve the economics of a fab, but increase the quality and productivity? Any additions sought and welcome.
