Cell Phone Companies and IOT, with AI Mixed In

IOT provides the next big market for the cell phone companies and it will be interesting to see how they adapt to it. Will they piggy back IOT on existing networks or build out a totally separate platform with different spectrum? This is definitely the next huge market for semis and it will be interesting to see how and who sets the standards. It's going to be interesting to see how the communications end of this market develops from the device to the communications network. With the dollars involved, every major company will be involved since this market could easily be as large as the cell phone market, maybe even larger. From the looks of it, almost everything will be connected within ten years with the need for everything from devices, networks, software and security on an international scale. Even our bodies and medical devices may become part of the IOT. It will almost be like something out of a science fiction movie. Mix in AI, which is developing at the same time and there is no telling what may happen. What will happen when a boss, client, government or spouse asks/demands you wear an IOT device, especially connected to AI? What will happen if the household helper becomes mandatory? We are about to enter a very, very different world. The market and opportunities this trend will provide for the semi sector is going to be a staggering size in and of itself, but added to this it will allow semis/mems/sensors to penetrate into many virgin or almost virgin areas or great growth. IOT/communications/AI is going to create whole new areas of growth. The boon to the semi and nanotechnology area is going to very long and very deep, providing opportunities to all those who look for them. NOTE: John Legere of TMobile gets it and is a person to watch
