Apple has announced this morning they are entering an agreement to look at building an Apple car that would by fully autonomous, self driving vehicle. This is one of the few markets of enough size to move the needle for Apple. It is a huge market and would offer a chance to offer many complimentary services with large upsides. Apple's relationship with TSM will be key in supplying the sophisticated semis required and a large competetive advantage over others.

A report on Wednesday claims Apple's first foray into the automotive industry will be a fully autonomous vehicle designed to operate without a human driver, suggesting it might not be marketed as a consumer product.

Hyundai said last month it was in early-stage talks with Apple to develop a car, but later revised the statement and made no mention of the iPhone maker.
