US control of financial functions trumps Chinese military

Since Taiwan is key to the semi industry and China is a serious threat, on CNBC Kyle Bass of Hayman Capital Management stated that since the US controls the major currency of the world for business and much of the structure, that the US and its allies could hobble China far more effectively with monetary controls than military action. He also stated that quantum computing is key for it has the ability to decrypt anything. He also stated China shouldn't be allowed access to US platforms to distribute information, since there is no access to Chinese information platforms.

Yes — the simplest way is just to freeze the giant mountain of money which Chinese central bank, and other Chinese banks hold in US banks.

Same with Russia, a double digit of Russian central bank money is literally sitting in the US under the nose of White House.

Apparently this guy doesn't understand that it is in US's interest to see China(or any other country)continue to use US dollar in international trade, that is the only way to remain the dollar status in today's international trade system.

Economic 101,currency is only an exchange media,it does not have any intrinsic value per se. If two parties have the needs to trade, they will figure out a way to do it regardless. China is the major trading country in the world, if US dollar is not available. China will just use currency swap agreement with other countries to trade, which China has been doing for a while. In the end it will only weaken US dollar's status in global trading system, boost Chinese RMB's trading volume.

Platform part is the same. It is better for the US to see that Chinese are addicted to US platform, because that is positive for spread US influence in China.

It's not about trade alone, but fair trade and China is a very long way from fair trade. You can only have fair and responsible trade to everyone's benefit and China has been far from fair and responsible. Not only have they abused fair trade, but their own people by having slave labor camps.
All parties including China would benefit from a fair, honest, and balanced system, which is not how China is currently playing.
