Intel’s AI Chief Leaves to Run Nokia After a Year on the Job

:ROFLMAO: That made me laugh. You're probably correct. Of course, in this case "better" does not equal "good enough".
BTW. If I remember correctly, it was PG who put the chief people officer to lead DC AI a few years ago. I was very puzzled by that. I thought PG cares about the capability more than political correctness.
He later moved her to lead FPGA group, but not fired her like the other VPs such as Raja Koduri. At that moment, I realized how strong the political correctness plays a role in intel culture.
Intel was a pure mess, and still is. I doubt any capable CEO candidate would challenge himself being a intel CEO.

To be honest, I thought Sandra Rivera was an odd choice to be Chief People Officer. She has a BSEE. She joined Intel through a telecom acquisition, and went into an Intel marketing group. No HR experience at all.

Political correctness was never important to PG in my direct experience. Loyalty was most important.

I'm sure they will. By TSMC. :ROFLMAO:
if Taiwanese have some balls, they should tell Trump to f'ck off and close the shop in AZ since Trump is cutting off federal fund and slap 100% taxes on Taiwan. Taiwanese might as well just roll everything back and make chips in Taiwan and Japan.

I doubt Taiwanese got the balls to stand up to Trump tho

Personally, I think TSMC will let their customers do the talking. Nvidia, AMD, Apple, Amazon, Broadcom, etc... should have some serious political power, not to mention Elon Musk. All of Elon's companies use semiconductors especially Tesla and the new xAI and Robotics stuff.

Intel names Israeli executive as interim head of data center and AI unit.

Karin Eibschitz Segal takes the helm following Justin Hotard’s departure to lead Nokia.

Israeli executive Karin Eibschitz Segal has been appointed interim head of Intel’s Data Center and AI Group. Her appointment follows Nokia’s announcement on Monday that Justin Hotard, executive vice president and general manager of Intel’s Data Center and AI Group (DCAI), has been named its next CEO, effective April 1. Eibschitz Segal's previous roles include: Vice President of Intel’s Design Engineering Group, General Manager of Intel Validation Engineering, and General Manager of the Intel Israel Development Center.

Interesting that INTC is up by about 4% today, apparently on the news of Hotard's exit.

I think it makes sense. Vance represents Ohio, a rust-belt state. It is important for him and Ohio.
Sorry, I meant that I find it difficult to believe that many investors in Intel are taking Vance seriously, because they must realize he doesn't know what he's talking about.

I think if Vance wants to become future president, he ought to be serious.

Good traditions for Intel :sneaky:

The world is definitely upside down today. INTC is up yet another 9.2%, and TSM is down 2.25%. Really dumb.
Intel's stock surged by 25% this week, marking its strongest performance in recent years. Ironically, the main catalyst for this rise is the rumor of a joint venture with TSMC, rather than any new product or process node launch.

What was the line from that stupid movie years ago? Oh yeah, "As if!!" (The movie was "Clueless". How appropriate.)
