Summary / Role Purpose

Join our growing Localization team to drive customer adoption of Ansys solutions globally. The Sr. Localization Quality Specialist works closely with our product teams, marketing specialists, application engineers, and third-party language services providers to ensure translations look and feel native to our customers. In this role, the Sr. Localization Quality Specialist will use advanced technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to tackle translation issues, ensure quality, and help shape the direction of our localization strategy.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and verify Japanese translations, including but not limited to marketing collateral, webpages, customer facing presentations, knowledge articles, product documentation, training content, and videos
  • Perform in-house translations
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to allocate terminology review tasks to subject matter experts
  • Be the primary point of contact for regional reviewers to address questions and resolve issues on Japanese translations
  • Become an expert in the translation management tools deployed within Ansys
  • Create and maintain linguistic style guides and glossaries for translators to follow
  • Provide feedback to translation vendors and address quality issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain translation memories for efficiencies and to ensure that the correct translation memories are used on projects
  • Develop guidelines and metrics to expand machine learning and enhance the usage and effectiveness of machine translation
  • Find ways to improve existing translation and localization processes to minimize the amount of time needed for review by internal staff

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Education & Years of Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of technical translation experience
  • Native fluency in Japanese
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese
  • Experience working with computer-assisted translation tools (preferably Trados Studio)
  • Deep technical knowledge including project management tools and platforms, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related technologies
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to function independently and as part of a team while managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working on machine translation post-editing tasks

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Working knowledge of translation management software
  • Understanding of simulation software
  • Experience working with both product and support teams
