Who Combines IOT/AI/ML Wins the World

Combining AI/ML/IOT will be the ultimate prize for AI/ML combined with the ultimate data vacuum of IOT will be the ultimate gold mine of progress in just about everything. The race is on among the two giants and this will be the largest consumer of Semis/Mems/Sensors and communications infrastructure ever. Not only will there be the big winners, but numerous others that stake out territories in this Brave New World that will have more surprises than we can ever imagine. Relationships will be discovered that we haven't even imagined as the forces of AI/ML/IOT merge and are explored and utilized in ever more imaginative ways. This will not only become the largest market for semis/MEMS/sensors, but everything else from medical to education to government and even sadly war. This is the ultimate future and will encompass not only our world, but the universe.

The "Great Acceleration" is picking up speed and everyone and all companies must have an action plan to use it to their advantage or get crushed by it as skill sets and possessions go obsolete at an ever increasing rate. We need to have governments and professional organizations to be leaders rather than followers for the people they represent, for the penalties of falling behind will be as great as rewards for utilizing what may be the greatest benefits mankind has ever encountered. This is a trend to not fear, but to savor the challenge and reap the rewards.

More like "wins their target market segment" of which there are thousands. The solutions for IoT/AI in health are not going to look anything like the solutions for energy, or for smarthomes, or vehicles, and so on. And then even within those categories, the solutions for fitness are not going to be the same as for managing diabetes, or medical record keeping. The market is incredibly heterogeneous, so there isn't going to be a single winner.

In this sense, the companies with the best platform or tools for developing AI or IoT applications are going to be the real winners. I think TSMC is the best platform for semiconductor manufacturing, so that's a really obvious bet to me. I think the semiconductor EDA and IP companies are well positioned in general. With AI it's much more competitive, and IoT more competitive still.

count, I agree to a point, Microsoft and Google seem to want to get the jump on others by providing ready made platforms and tools in the near future, like a foundry for combining AI/ML/IOT. There will be lots of opportunity to go around and cost going down will allow lots of opportunity for anyone with imagination and the drive to make it happen. Amazon should be joining in the game in a big way shortly with AWS. You are 100% right, the competition will be fierce, it always has been. The success rate for businesses, legal or illegal, is only 2% after five years and has held at this rate for decades. Competition is and has always been here or comes very quickly even in new developments.
