Listening to podcasts is a nice break between reading blogs and attending conferences. Podcasts are not easy to do but re/code has a nice formula that attracts big names in the tech industry. Kara Swisher does a real nice job of keeping people honest and entertained. Kara even spoke at the last GSA Executive Summit so she knows a bit about semiconductors.

I found this one quite interesting given that Ericsson's history in the communications industry:

Ericsson is maybe the largest communications technology company on the planet. This week, CEO Hans Vestberg tells Kara Swisher about the view from the top, and why he’s excited about connectivity in the developing world and in cars.

Podcast: Ericsson CEO Hans Vestberg, Code/Mobile and Google Search | Re/code Decode, hosted by Kara Swisher | Recode

Let me know what you think......

Amazing to hear that they are now basically a software company with some dedicated hardware as competitive edge. I still think of them in terms of T68 and large base stations.

Anyone knows how they want to combine all those use cases into one standard (5G), or is 5G just a branding for many separate standards?
