Walmart Pay To Pass Apple Pay?

The tech world is changing again. The sleeping giants such as Disney and Walmart are going head to head with the tech companies on their own turf. Disney with Netflix and Walmart with Apple. This is good for everyone including the companies themselves. Competition keeps technology advancing and prices falling, all while growing the total market. Hopefully this will stop frauds like Bitcoin. Walmart is also evolving to compete with Amazon where if they don't have the talent, they buy it. This also benefits the semi/mems/sensor sector by speeding up the expansion and progress in the market. One increases the size of the market and the other drives older equipment obsolete faster, a win/win for the semi/nanotech sector.

Walmart Pay 'Close to Surpassing' Apple Pay in U.S. Mobile Payments Usage - Mac Rumors

Good find. I haven't noticed ApplePay being particularly widely used, so good for Walmart. Begs the question of what we do at any other brick and mortar store, but I'm sure options will emerge.

Walmart, strangely enough has always been a tech power. Their use of corporate aircraft, computer power and very advanced distribution centers with matching logistics has been legendary. Sure they fell behind and are not the employer of choice, but they are a power to be reckoned with and the sleeping giant has been awakened.
