UMC to Raise Prices in 2H 2026

TSMC is not the only foundry raising prices. Hopefully Samsung gets on board and kicks their deep discounting habit. AI will generate trillions of dollars in revenue and cost savings so why not get a bigger piece of the pie? Silicon is where AI begins!

Taiwan’s Economic Daily News reported that UMC sent a letter to clients announcing the upcoming price adjustment, citing the evolving supply-demand environment and continued investments needed to support customer growth, according to the report.
