Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC), the world's largest contract chipmaker, said on Tuesday that its soon-to-be-opened research and development center in Baoshan Township, Hsinchu, northern Taiwan will be involved in ongoing efforts to develop the advanced 3 nanometer process.

I can assure you that TSMC 3nm will not be leaving Taiwan anytime soon. TSMC is not allowing Intel to manufacture 3nm. TSMC is not building 3nm fabs in the US, EU, India, Abu Dhabi, or North Korea. The media is really running amuck here, absolutely.

If we add timeline, it is clearly that "not now and within 2 years" due to regulation in Taiwan. But no one knows what will be after 2023. I would bet it is not "no" but "when" ? make decision before 2023 or later?
