2022 was a great year for semiconductor industry and set the bar very high when 2023 turned out to be a bad year for the industry as a whole. I think TSMC's 4.5% 2023 revenue drop from 2022 is not bad at all.

Considering the average semiconductor forecasts were -10% in 2023, ending in single digit decline is not so bad.

I did think TSMC would do much better in Q4 2023. TSMC will do their Q4 report next week on Thursday. I'm really looking forward to that one!

After peak Covid years, was there always going to a regression to the mean?

Why folk pushing outlier years as the new norm?
