Solution To IP Mess/EDA Foundry Model

To establish who developed what, when, how and to what extent at each stage of the process have the data put in data lockers with the key held in blockchain.
This would firmly establish who developed what, where and when at each stage of the development process in a way there could be no dispute. Of course all parties would have to set up some universal IP rules, but it would be far better than the UMC/Micron mess, among many others. We truly need a world wide patent system that is fair, balanced, transparent with a secure documentation system. A central body would have to assembled for resolving disputes would also hold the secure registry so there could be no doubt who did what, where and when. They would hold the keys, but not the locker, which would be frozen when the key is made. This could also allow a technology to be broken down in pieces for use in different devices and allow for more creative uses and derivatives of a particular IP for different uses. This could also be uses to establish a foundry model for EDA like I suggested in an earlier forum. It would allow collaboration not only within a foundry, but between companies and research organizations speeding up progress for everyone. It is time to get as creative with IP and IP protection as the IP itself.

Any comments, thoughts or additions on this would be appreciated, if there is a flaw in this please let me know

FYI - there already is a World Intellectual Property Organization, a self-funding agency of the United Nations at: WIPO - World Intellectual Property Organization

Because each country is sovereign, they have their own patent system, which is why UMC filed a patent violation lawsuit against Micron in China, their country of origin.

I'm not sure that the UN has ever stopped a war, let alone stopped a patent violation, so good luck with that universal cooperation ideal.

UMC is actually based in Taiwan, so they are just venue shopping using their various branches. I agree the UN has proved almost useless and inefficient. One problem is a corrupt no account country has the same vote as the US or any other major countries. The structure of the UN is very poor, as are the results. Thanks for the input. Do you think the process could be used for an EDA firm using a foundry model or in the cloud to improve the process for all like TSM improves the processes for all?
