Smartphones Induce Brain to Ads

The companies and Media are frustrated when consumers pass through a series of social media sites skipping all on-line ads. What's the problem? The audience's brain is overloaded with a host of information.

In such a situation, how does a company get attention of a large crowd towards its new product or old product in new avatar? There are many companies engaging experts in researching on how to read audience's mind, and several techniques including bio-metrics, eye tracking, facial coding etc. have been used.

Recently, Facebook engaged with SalesBrain to study how consumers responded to ads on smartphones against TVs. Smartphones rule here again. It has been found that the physical closeness to smartphones gets better attention to ads.

Two things, I have observed personally - i) Ads on the side of any content to read on social media does get attention. Although we do not click many of them, they get our closer views and put an impression on mind. For that matter, the ads on TVs are also good for viewing only. ii) Most of the Smartphoners view Facebook on their smartphones. My daughter is one of them :). That may be the reason, Facebook specifically conducted this study. Smartphone's win is Facebook's win!

I use Facebook both on the desktop and on the smart phone, have to admit that I've never clicked on an ad, however I have checked the option for "That ad was offensive". Facebook now knows my political party and religious belief based on what offended me.
