Siemens announced an investment of more than 1.3 billion pesos to expand its operations in the state of Querétaro, with the aim of increasing its production capacity and creating approximately 300 new jobs.

The announcement was made at Hannover Messe, the world’s leading industrial trade fair, in the presence of Stephan May, CEO of Electrification and Automation at Siemens AG; Alejandro Preinfalk, CEO of Siemens Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean; Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero, Secretary of Sustainable Development for the state of Querétaro; and Felipe Fernando Macías, Mayor of Querétaro.

This investment adds to the more than 1.8 billion pesos previously announced, bringing the company’s total investment in Querétaro over the past year to more than 3 billion pesos. This further consolidates the state as a key hub for Siemens’ advanced manufacturing in the region.

“Querétaro has become a key pillar for Siemens globally. This investment not only expands our production capacity, but also strengthens our position to support our customers in their transition toward more digital, sustainable, and resilient industries,” said Alejandro Preinfalk, CEO of Siemens Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.

With nearly four decades of presence in the state, Siemens’ operations in Querétaro are focused on the manufacturing of technological solutions for industrial electrification. Its main activities include the production of panels and control systems for medium- and low-voltage applications, used in sectors such as automotive, food and beverage, as well as energy infrastructure.

These facilities are part of Siemens’ global strategy to drive more resilient, efficient, and sustainable industries, and enable the company to meet the growing demand for electrification solutions in the region. The expansion will also help optimize production processes, reduce lead times, and advance the company’s decarbonization goals.

In addition to its manufacturing capacity, Siemens has strong engineering, research, and development capabilities in Querétaro focused on solutions for electrical systems, reinforcing its role as a comprehensive hub for innovation and production serving the regional market.

With this expansion, Siemens continues to drive Mexico’s digital and energy transformation, contributing to economic growth, the creation of specialized jobs, and the development of a more sustainable future.
