Semis to Create the Largest Change in History

We are about see the largest change in the history of man, the convergence of artificial intelligence and adaptive education made possible and enabled by semis at all levels and of all types while dramatically lowering the cost and time required to learn anything. This will be an awesome power beyond anything we have ever dealt with and I hope we have the wisdom to harness it to the benefit of all and that we can get around the special interests that will do everything in their power to take control of it, to the detriment of all.

Adaptive education is education designed to adapt to our individual style of learning that has been shaped by our physical and social environment, our genes and even our diet. There are several ways to teach almost anything and many paths to impart not only knowledge, but how to work with it and use it as a stepping stone to advance it. By developing systems that create an individual custom path as feed back from previous success or failure at every step the speed and quality of education can be greatly advanced. AI will dramatically lower the cost of adaptive education enabling more and more people to reach their full potential. All this will feed on itself to advance mankind at an ever increasing geometric rate. All this will be applied to all levels of learning, fromm the earliest preschool and child care to the highest level of specialized proprietary education in major research institutions and bleeding edge tech companies for their senior staff. As the data bases get larger, the speed and quality will only improve from constantly evolving, developing better and faster pathways to any result.

All this will be built on a foundation of semiconductors that comprise everything involved from AI to the Cloud, to communications, to the actual interface device that will probably be a tablet or smart phone (should really be called personal mobile interface, for the phone function will be well below half, if even that). Even lab work can be done in virtual/augmented reality or remotely robotically, dramatically lowering the cost. This will drastically lower the cost of education and the number of people needed to provide it for we will truly be fully automating a process that has changed far slower than the technology we have due to highly entrenched and profitable special interests that have vast political power. It will also allow education any time, any place no longer tied to a specific space or even country.

We will be taking teaching and automating it to the benefit of all. It will be like going from walking to flying in a high speed executive jet. Not only will this process give us knowledge and a vastly better ability to work with it, but the lines between work and education will increasing blur. It will extend automation since people that learn in this way will have far more of an automation mind set in everything they touch. More and more factories will be "Dark Factories" as some already are. Even houses and buildings will be built by automation through 3D printing and robotics.

This process will also be a boon to people with learning disabilities that really aren't disabled, they have just needed a different way to be taught. Enabling all people to reach their full potential will lead to a world that many can't comprehend and will fight and sabotage every step of the way. I truly hope enough have the wisdom to make this happen. If it happens anywhere, it will not be in Washington DC, but in Silicon Valley as we have already seen where the first green shoots of this move come to light. All this will change everything for only an intelligent, educated population can make intelligent decisions with positive outcomes. Never has mankind had the power to tackle any challenge as they will soon be handed to change every aspect of our world and into space itself.

I feel that advanced forms of teaching/education are the key to keeping a stable society. I and the readers of SemiWiki are more fortunate than most and with that goes responsibility. It isn't about charity, but directing a portion of our efforts to enabling people at all levels to reach a fuller potential to the benefit of all. Human capital is the most important aspect of any stable society and it's to all our benefit to live in the best environment possible. Increasing the rate of penetration on tech into advancing education/training I feel offers the most efficient and humane use of resources to achieve this. Education in everything from taking care of ourselves to social skills to work skills are by far the most economical ways to overcome the challenges before us and advance towards a society we want to live in. Automating much of this as possible offer not only economic returns, but will give us a better world to live in. Semis, software advances will enable us to progress in this direction at rates never thought possible, if we have the wisdom to use our resources and skill set.
