Samsung launched Tizen based smartphone

It seems Samsung is really taking the battle hard.
The much anticipated Tizen based smartphone is already there!
Samsung launched its first Tizen based smartphone, Samsung Z1 in India. And the price is unbelievable - ~$95

There are couple of things I read into it -
1) Has India become the primary war zone for low-priced smartphones?
2) Is Samsung using India as its test ground for Tizen based smartphones?
3) This is a hypothesis before question - The success of Tizen based smartphones will bring Samsung much closer to its strategy in IoT business. That Smartphone can easily control all consumer electronics of Samsung with Tizen connecting those. It's a strong strategy for Samsung based on their core competency. The success of Tizen and Tizen based smartphones will bring faster execution to that strategy. Do we agree with this?

I guess they need a pool of app contributors. Without Indian talents support, Tizen can not go further in my point of view.

Good point, many app contributors are there in India, but that may not be a sole point. There are apps coming from China as well, if you consider low-priced phone market.

Technically, a land-line phone can also be enhanced to connect to IoT, but that defeats the purpose. Through IoT, devices should be able to be controlled from anywhere, any time, and smartphone is most suitable for that purpose.

It seems Samsung Z1, the Tizen based phone by Samsung is picking up well.
More than 100000 phones are already sold in India. See the report here.

We need to see how Samsung proliferates this to other countries.
