View attachment 13363Integrating gauge control, graphics display, and functional safety elements in one chip, Renesas has announced the RH850/D1x family of MCUs aimed at automotive instrument clusters in entry and mid-range vehicles. The part features up to a 240 MHz processor core tied to a OpenVG 1.1 graphics core with 3.75 or 5MB of code flash. Support is included for advanced features such as head-up displays, with ability to warp output video to fit an arbitrary shape like a windshield without frame delay.
The RH850/D1x supports a full range of connectivity for the automotive environment, including CAN, LIN, Ethernet AVB, as well as a sound cluster and a suite of A/D, timers, and real-time clock. Depending on I/O pins, packages range from a 176-pin, 24x24mm QFP to a 484-pin, 27x27mm BGA. Sampling is immediate, price is unannounced.
