Since the invention of the transistor semis of all types has created entirely new markets and products and some in the financial markets and even the industry itself. Some actually believe this process has slowed or even come to a stop. Actually, with the exception of a few short periods, this process is actually picking up speed by feeding on itself. Each advance in semis creates an entirely new ecosystem, some small, some large, but constantly accelerating by each ecosystem playing a part in creating entirely new ones. It's been a long time since Hewlett Packard came out with the HP 35 handheld engineering calculator in 1972. This advance is still picking up speed as even computers and TVs even though old products are advancing creating ecosystems that require even more semis at every stage of each ecosystem. I feel real-time advances of existing ecosystems are going to actually accelerate, further driving demand ever faster. The automation of everything combined with continuous and real-time advances will force us to modify how we deal with the world around us. These changes are actually changing how we perceive maturing and new realities at an ever-accelerating rate. The market for semis will change and continue to accelerate and the automation of everything will be the next revolutionary ecosystem that has yet to come into existence. Ecosystem strategist will be the next new field to come into demand to deal with these changes. The current doomsayers don't have a clue. Any thoughts or comments appreciated.
