New semiconductors replacements database

Hello,

After many years searching for equivalent parts, substitutes or replacements for integrated circuits and semiconductors, I decided to register share the results of mergin multiple replacements sources into and create an auto-complete search in a new website - www.icreplacements.com

The Web is still in its beta version but it has a very specific goal, to remove the need to search for replacements in many different sources. For example, if you want to know the NTE replacement, you have to search in the NTE database. If you want to know the SK replacement, you have to search in the SK database. I've seen hundreds of questions in forums related to replacements and these questions motivated me to start working in a huge replacement database as a single point for replacements information.

If you can take a look at the search engine and provide feedback, it would be highly appreciated. I do believe your feedback would be great to enhance the site and to know whether the site has real value for you.

The idea is to add more information to each part, such as a real, reliable datasheet. As you know, when we search for datasheets, it takes a lot of time to find a decent PDF that isn't garbage.

So, your ideas would help me to increase the value for this replacements database. That's the goal. Hope you find it useful and that you can provide your feedback.

Best regards,

Gaston Hillar

Daniel,

Thanks for your feedback. The issue you mentioned is solved. It was an issue with the code generated by one ad provider. I've just removed it.

I'm more than happy to let you know that the site isn't SCAM. As far as I know, SCAM means fraud. If you think my site includes any kind of fraud, I would be more than happy to hear your explanations and make the necessary changes in the site.

I'll provide you an example of how the site is working right now, so that you can enter again and check (if you still want to).

After you enter ICReplacements.com, you enter the following characters 2N2148 and you will see the following result in the auto-complete made with Twitter Bootstrap Typeahead: 2N2148 - Germanium PNP transistor. See attached figure.

View attachment 10546

You press Enter or just tap in any mobile device on "2N2148 - Germanium PNP transistor" and the site will display the following replacements for 2N2148:

2N3617//18
AL102//103
AUY22

See attached figure. The page you are redirected to is %TITLE%

View attachment 10547

This means that you can replace 2N2148 with any of the following:

2N3617
2N3618
AL102
AL103
AUY22

If you find any fraud / SCAM in the way the Web site is working, again, I will be more than happy to hear your thoughts and make the necessary changes.

I will provide you more information about myself, so that you can understand why I will never be involved in SCAM.

I've been producing software for electronic technicians since 1995.

I'm author and co-author of more than 50 books related to electronics, computer hardware, embedded systems and software engineering.

You can check all my books in my LinkedIn profile or also take a look at the books sold at Amazon or Barnes and Noble. You can check my Amazon author page here Amazon.com: Gastón Hillar: Books, Biography, Blog, Audiobooks, Kindle . However, Amazon doesn't include many of my books that weren't published in English.

I've been a speaker in hundreds of events. I include you one reference related to embedded systems: Multicore technology training for embedded systems designers | Embedded

I've been awarded as an Intel Black Belt Software Developer for five consecutive years and I'm a guest Blogger at Intel Software Network: gaston-hillar

I've written blogs posts and more than a hundred articles for the legendary Dr. Dobb's Journal. You can check my work here: www.drdobbs.com/author/Gaston-Hillar

As you can see, I'm not hidden behind a fraudulent / SCAM Website.

You can reach me at gastonhillar [at] hotmail [dot] com

You can follow me on Twitter at @gastonhillar

BTW, I'm not adding my profile picture because I didn't find a way to do it. :)

I really hope all the information I provided you makes you change your mind.

If you need additional information about the history of this database, I will be more than happy to provide it to you.

Thanks again,

Gaston Hillar
