This is the next step in us becoming bionic. They say these could even give us another way interface with our devices by direct brain implants. This also brings up the very scary option that a political power could use implants to control us. This is a technology that like AI holds very large promise, but could hold some very large dangers if it gets into the wrong hands. Bionics will be one of the largest markets for semis in the future and the number of different types will be almost infinite as they will be just like any semi technology and expand in scope and go obsolete at an ever increasing rate.
