Family Team takes Qualcomm Tricorder Xprize

A combination of semis/sensors/mems coupled to AI took the tricorder Qualcomm Xprize. It isn't if, it's when almost every household if it doesn't have one, will have access to one. Still basically crude devices now, in the future they may handle the vast bulk of diagnostics. This combination of devices/AI/big data will render much of regular diagnostics obsolete and when combined with MRIs and other higher cost larger equipment, the whole medical field will be opened to major disruption. Combine this with ever more sophisticated diagnostics and you can see the automation of major areas of medical. This has the potential to bring costs down dramatically, but probably less so in the US.
