Are the Chinese Lawsuits against Micron legitimate?

Think about it，why did YMTC file lawsuit against Micron in US court，but not in Chinese court？Wouldn't it be easier for YMTC to win the lawsuit ，if they choose to do it in Chinese court？

Even from a market perspective，this lawsuit should be conducted in China. Since YMTC is not selling to the US，but Micron is selling in China，so they are competing on Chinese market，not US market.

Chinese chipmaker Yangtze Memory Technologies Co (YMTC) has filed a lawsuit against U.S. rival Micron Technology alleging infringement of eight of its patents.

YMTC has already ramped technologies (wafer bonding) that other NAND companies will ramp in the next 1-3 years. Like ALL patent lawsuits, the goal is not to win, but to get a cut or agreement for the future. First glance I thought this was frivolous .... but upon further review, I think it might be more substantial.

Exactly. That is why the venue is the USA. YMTC does have a significant patent portfolio, including many it purchased (the specific patents in the suit have not been published AFAIK). In the long run it wants a favorable cross licensing deal.
