Apple Orders More Arizona Chips As TSMC Valuation Premium Draws Focus

- Apple has significantly increased its orders for advanced chips produced by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing at TSMC's Arizona facility.
- The expanded orders focus on cutting edge processors for Apple devices, sourced from TSMC's U.S. operations.
- This move highlights closer ties between Apple and TSMC and greater localization of chip production in the United States.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, NYSE:TSM, sits at the center of high end chip production, and Apple's larger orders from the Arizona plant underline that position. The stock trades at $353.13, with a return of 98.2% over the past year and 224.0% over five years, which indicates how closely investors track its role in premium manufacturing. Those kinds of numbers tend to draw attention from both growth focused and long term investors.

Apple leaning more on TSMC's U.S. capacity could influence how you think about the company's future footprint, especially its role in the American chip ecosystem. As Arizona output becomes a larger part of key customer supply chains, investors may focus more on developments around U.S. capacity, customer concentration, and how reliably TSMC can support domestic production for major clients.

I keep reading about this. Granted Apple is one of the reasons why TSMC came to AZ but I do not see them gobbling up AZ capacity. Apple is always first on a node and TSMC AZ is N-1 or N-2. AMD and Nvidia are good AZ customers since they are also N-1 for HVM.
