Apple in Uncharted Territory with Iphone

As the gorilla in the semiconductor space, it is a position no other company of even close to its size has ever been in. This is going to a very interesting story going forward. As the power house customer in semis, this is definitely something to give thought to. I feel one of their first targets will be Netflix in the short term and changing the face of medical in some way in the long term. A foray of the size Apple needs would be a revolution in the way the medical sector is put together. This could be a staggeringly large pay day and change for the semi industry. Any observations or thoughts on a single company and what the effects of their dominance could be could be a vision of the future. Any ideas?

Not 100% on topic, but September 9th is expected to be the announcement of the new iPhone and probably something else (new Apple TV? new iWatch? new iNewthing?).

And in all the discussion about migrants/refugees from Syria, there is (was) the son of a Syrian migrant lurking in hi-tech almost sight unseen. Steve Jobs, whose birth parents were Syrian before he was adopted.
