AI can improve itself

Arthur Hanson

It seems AI is becoming more like human intelligence in that it can improve itself, just like humans can through self-reflection. If AI can literally improve itself on a consistent basis, in just a few years we may even not understand how it progresses on its own. Will we be able to pull the plug or will it have the ability to hide itself, maybe in pieces, around the world? It's like an old science fiction movie where they asked a super computer if the was god and it answered you are talking to me. Any thoughts where this may lead and if ever decides humans get in the way?
