TSMC Arizona’s planned campus expansion in north Phoenix is much closer to becoming a reality.

Phoenix City Council unanimously approved rezoning measures allowing industrial uses on a roughly 900-acre site directly south of TSMC during a Dec. 17 meeting.

On Jan.7, TSMC will bid for the site – which is currently state-owned land – at an Arizona State Land Department auction. The starting bid is $197,250,000.

Christine Mackay, the city’s former head of economic development, expressed her support during an hours-long Council meeting. Mackay now heads up the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.
