Stores Converted to Giant Vending Machines

Converting traditional stores to giant vending machines will be the future and create a massive new market for many areas of the tech sector. It will increase retail efficiency massively, cut down theft and save time for the customers. Order online or at the store with the option of home delivery by automated transport.
Retail and even commercial stores and warehouses are areas that are ripe for automation of all types. This will become a major shift and competitive edge for the companies and countries that win the race. AI and advanced robotics will lower costs through efficiency, land use and several other areas. This will present a market of staggering size for the tech sector. Our whole society is in for a massive shift. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/com...-retail-bloodbath-9-000-jobs-lost/ar-AA1PMDpL

The shift will be when the modern day "Luddites" feel it isnt really working for them and they burn it all down.

Already happening, Symbotic is the leading company in this space.

It has been done for years on a very limited basis, I see it becoming widespread in five years and dominating in ten as a company will have to convert or die. This will also apply to commercial enterprises. Amazon and others are still in the early stages. Our world is going to change more and faster than most can even imagine as tech/automation/business models change and morph at an ever-accelerating rate.

Interesting, the self checkouts at local stories are being scaled back due to theft. Personally I prefer doing it myself but it should come with a price break since I am doing the work of two people (checkers and baggers). Instead they make me pay 10 cents for each bag I use. I bring my own bag since I was born frugal and want to save the oceans from plastic. Maybe robotics/AI will help us out here? Or we go to a delivery only business model? In this regard I am a luddite, I prefer buying food in person. Everything else Amazon is fine.

The self-check out design will have to change. You have to have the item placed on a belt and fed though a scanner to where you put it into a bag in a separate area. This would be faster and more theft proof than current systems and also faster.
