Intel Challenges ongoing, director Lip-Bu Tan leaving, who could turn Intel around

I just noticed that the URL I posted previously for the Intel's Board of Directors actually listed 28 people and many of them are merely Intel senior executives. I don't know why Intel can make such mistake. The link below listed only 12 directors. It's probably more close to the real situation.

I looked at this too. I've never seen a Board with so many members and company management. Seems odd. Too many cooks in the kitchen.
 
I said before. Lisa Su or Jensen or any of their relatives works for me. I will take the "Fredo" of that family as a Intel board member or CEO :ROFLMAO: :LOL: :ROFLMAO: :LOL:

Every Tech company should interview every family member on the chart before deciding on CEO. :D

Funny thing aside, has Intel Board of Directors thought about today's Intel is too big and too complicated and too many internal conflicts of interest to keep as one single company together?

Imagine if Mr. Lo, Jensen Huang' grandfather and Lisa Su's great grandfather, decided to keep the whole family together in Taiwan and discourage anyone to move overseas many years ago, we probably won't see today's Nvidia/Jensen Huang or AMD/Lisa Su.

The first thing to do might be to break it into two or several pieces. At this point, even the Huang family doesn't have anyone who understands so many things.

BoD most important role is to be the final oversight and ask hard question about strategy and execution.

Nobody on the board now beside the Intel executive have any prospective of chip manufacturing and complext HPC design nor how to ask Pat and the ELT the hard and uncomfortable questions about execution or even strategy choices.

It’s obvious already the last few notable layoffs went poorly and everything I read about this one is following a similar trajectory. There is no question by any metric Intel needs to go on a significant diet when beanchmarked against TSMC as a fab company and Nvidia AMD as a fabless HPC company.

Intel historical uses external consultants who are expensive and few of what I have seen from them really have been inaccurate benchmarks. Much like most of the external analysts who have been decades away from the industry have no clue what is going on inside.

Tech business is like war campaign. Ex generals and foot soldiers think because they fought a past war makes them some expert side commentary. War often like technology moves fast and reality isn’t what outsiders think nor consultants!

A very strange recent hire is Naga latest executive add is an odd one. A memory guy, TD guy from a company that has a complete different business model about development, transfer, ramp. I could see Lip-Bu ask some hard questions and probably leave in disgust over being overruled. I doubt he is in disagreement over the IDM and Foundry strategy as he joined well after it started. Or he is in disgust over some aspect of his probing. In the surface 5N4Y is moving along with Panther Lake , Arrow Lake and Clearwater Forrest delivery.

Ideally Intel would have brought someone in from TSMC or Samsung as Keyvan Esfarjani’s replacement but if they could not poach qualified executives from those two giants, then Micron, GF and TI are the only US based companies with 300 mm fabs left.

Lots of Samsung and GF at Intel, unicorns exist but so many stars need alignment for movement.
 
Intel BoD really needs young blood. Someone bold and shrewd who understands where cutting edge tech is going and what customers really need. Intel is top heavy and has too many execs who gained their experience in bygone era of Wintel duopoly. They cannot lead because they do not understand what Intel must do to be relevant. Sorry to say this but these people need to be let go. They are the cause top young talent stopped perceiving Intel as a cool place to join and grow professionally.
