Will GPT augment or replace professionals?

With GPT coming on strong, will organizations use it to greatly augment the professionals they have or use it to replace new hires? AI/ML and where it is now going looks to be the greatest disrupter in human history for now we have true competition from machines that will progress faster than any human. The growth in sensors and monitors in almost everything and growing provide ever larger data sets that no human or group could possibly keep up with. Will strategically managing AI/ML become the most in demand skill set and will education and degrees in maximizing its power and utility be the future? Also, any thoughts on how this will change the environment and ecosystems in education, training and certifications would be appreciated. Thanks
