With very inefficient, high cost, low quality medical the US seems to be letting China take the lead in automating medical. The Chinese have made automating as many medical procedures as possible a priority. Even though they are behind in many technical areas, this is one area where they are determined to lead in part to the shortage of medical professionals. This could be one of the largest markets for tech and I have no doubt they are not only looking at it for their own use, but hope to lead the world not only to solve their own shortage of medical personnel, but give China an insurmountable lead in one of the world's largest markets. This will appeal to not only modern countries to lower cost, but developing countries with a shortage of skilled people and resources to build on the current systems in place. The automation of medical could easily become a wide mega market that the Chinese feel they can dominate. Semiconductors, advanced robotics in medical offer a market of such size with large side benefits that the Chinese leadership has already made it a target and so far have been flying under the radar. Any thoughts, comments or additions sought and welcome.
