Just like several worldwide collaboration platforms have been built for finance and communications, is there any chance of a worldwide collaboration system be built for the semi industry? This could advance the needed technologies even faster, while lowering costs through avoiding duplication. Even if this could be done in just the western countries and democracies, the scientific and cost benefits could be literally staggering.
