DJI - The World Leader in Camera Drones/Quadcopters for Aerial Photography
DGI has months between generations while US defense contractors have five to six years. These are highly sophisticated drones that are advancing at the speed of tech and not just toys.
Clones are becoming an area of sophisticated robotics that will become major consumers of semis and semi technologies of all types. These technologies will be used for control, navigation, imaging, communications, stabilization, battery and motor management, collision avoidance and adherence to various regulations. Drones are just sophisticated flying robots and sophisticated robotics in everything from lab work to patrolling the skies is already a growth area for semiconductor technology that will is picking up speed, just the smart phone revolution. This will dramatically change society and our financial structure in ways many haven't even imagined. This will also allow us to fully utilize the oceans which cover seventy percent of the planet and are largely untapped. Robotics will make this not only possible, but practical and economical. One underwater turbine can generate as much power as a hundred windmills and also do it 24/7. Just one percent of ocean currents could power the world. Figure, seventy percent of the world's resources are largely untapped. We can either manage or mismanage the potential of robotics that is coming upon us. How we utilize this vast potential, will be as important as the technology itself. I like the Albert Einstein quote "Those privileged to know, have the duty to act". I feel those privileged to know, should have the wisdom to know how to act.
