Long live the 8051. Silicon Labs introduces three new 8051-based MCUs designed for the IoT. The EFM8 Bee family is based on a high-speed pipelined 8051 core, low power mixed signal and communication capability, and a crossbar matrix.
View attachment 13391The family contains three lines:
EFM8 Busy Bee, with cores up to 50 MHz and flash up to 16kB, plus a 12-bit ADC. Prices start at $0.21 in 10K.
EFM8 Sleepy Bee, optimized for 50nA sleep mode power and 2usec wake up, with a 25 MHz core and flash up to 64kB, plus a wake-on-touch capacitive sense controller. Prices start at $0.32 in 10K.
EFM8 Universal Bee, with USB and other connectivity, running at up to 48 MHz with 64kB flash. Prices start at $0.43 in 10K.
