Ukraine intelligence is receiving 10,000 messages a day (source, the Economist) with geolocations on Russian troops and operations from smart phones and the US is providing satellite imagery to the Ukrainians. I have no doubt they are running this through automated programs that are off the shelf and used for commercial purposes in tracking business activities from parking lots to shipping. Semis of all types, software and social media have changed this conflict more than any other because of the proliferation of smart phones and the networks to support them. This is the first hot war to have social media combined with these resources to change the way war will be conducted in the future. It's sad that many leaders don't understand collaboration and cooperation is far more profitable than war. This should be a valuable lesson for China and Taiwan. Ukaines'sf use of technology is changing conflict, I can only imagine Taiwan and China is watching this very closely and learning.
