Kobold Metals in collaboration with Stanford are developing new methods and instrumentation to do initial geologic surveys from the air combined with AI in the hunt for the metals needed to support the rapidly growing demand from the tech sector. Theses and other technologies in materials and their expanding uses are still in their early stages but are highly critical to maintaining and increasing the carrying capacity of a vastly overpopulated planet we live on. All this is going to be needed if we are going to keep our planet habitable with the growing population that current technologies are failing to support. The number of markets for semis/mems of all types is growing on top of the growth in more mature markets. Semis are the new steel of the modern age, except obsolescence is a large market driver as the time between generations is continuously shrinking. Already many areas have gone to the as a service model to make full economic use of coming technologies. This is but one of many examples and they are increasing literally by the day.

The big tech quest to find the metals needed for the energy overhaul
Demand for lithium, cobalt, graphite, and other battery materials is soaring. AI may help dig them up.
