Semis, the Processes Even More Revolutionary

Semis have changed the world dramatically in all areas of computing, processing and storage. But the real revolution is in the manufacturing processes and design software that dramatically reduce costs, energy consumption while increasing functionality at an ever increasing rate. Display, lighting and solar were the next areas to benefit from this ongoing revolution. Mems, sensors and energy sources (light, microwaves, radio waves and all forms of energy radiation) are the next part of the manufacturing process revolution that semis started. The next phase will be micro control systems and robots using the foundation of these previous technologies. The semi revolution applied to this will bring us a new wave of nanotechnology manufacturing that will dramatically shrink labs, robots, and process equipment that will touch every area of our lives. The next thing we will be seeing is a new wave of robotics in fixed, ground mobile, flying, submersible, wall crawling and specialized small space robotics made possible by all the technologies the semi revolution has wrought. It's easy to see when a very small robot on a very fine tether performs surgery with a small fraction of the disruption to the body that normal surgery causes and not only that, does a far better job. We will be able to have a physical more comprehensive at our house and do it better than a hospital because it can be done on a daily basis. Just look at the sports scales (the last one I bought at Home Depot for under 20 bucks) that measures body fat, bone mass, water content, muscle mass, visceral fat to a cell phone app. Automated full blood tests will be just like the blood sugar tests diabetics now take. To see our sweat, breath, stool and urine tests giving us even more information is not that far off. On top of this could be a thermal body scan that could give us even more information. The cell phone cam will even look into our eyes and ears to tell us even more. It isn't hard to see most doctors visits will be over the wire. New types of harvesting energy in solar are still advancing at a rapid rate and it isn't hard to see with mems, we could have flat pane wind energy harvest that is silent and unobtrusive. Combine all this with energy storage rapidly improving and we might not even need the grid in the future. This may also be applied to water in the future with home water recycling units made with nanotech/mems technology that dramatically lower our water consumption to the point other mems will harvest the water we do need from the air. This is but just beginning of the revolution that semis have been the foundation of. It's all about the numerous processes of every type that have come out of the semi world. This phase of the revolution semis have started is just is just phase one and only limited by our imagination. When coupled with the traditional semi's path and AI/ML, this presents what may be the greatest opportunity for individuals and companies in history. The future is ours and what we make of it, wisdom required.
