Self Assembly of Chips

It looks like in the future assembly of chips might become more like the assembly of life, which is self assembly by a code similar to the genetic code. Maybe there will be the equivalent of a unified field theory for assembly of very, very small objects. Craig Venter did create a new life form a while back by overlaying a totally man made code over an existing one in a nucleus, creating a totally man designed life form and maybe semiconductors are next. It looks like self assembly may be the future. Any comments or thoughts on the changes this may bring to the semi and bio industries and if they start to become one in the same?
