Samsung, despite the charging/battery fiasco, is out to leverage its wide ranging talents to dominate everything it touches. This is the most sophisticated robotic vacuum I've seen. Robotic vision, learning and controllable by phone. This is the sixth generation and it applies a variety of Samsung technologies in everything from motors, batteries, processors, vision and mechanics. This kind of effort is just plain smart, for it allows them to spread their R&D cost over a much wider base. Handled properly this will make them a much bigger threat to competitors than they already are. Samsung is leveraging their technologies across the broadest product lines possible. In many areas they are the product of choice. It's pretty amazing what Korea Inc. has accomplished since being totally destroyed in the mid fifties. Korea Inc. is a very fierce competitor and it will be interesting to see where they go from here in everything from cars, robotics, ships and everything else they touch. For a small country, they have made tremendous accomplishments in record time. They are a great example of what can be done with limited resources. We in the US better step up if we want to stay the leader, the competition is now the most serious we have ever faced and the implications are serious. Korea is bringing their A game.
