Qualcomm Has a Plan to Make 4G Cellular Hotspots as Easy to Set Up as Wi-Fi Networks | MIT Technology Review

This could significantly change the cell phone landscape and offer a whole new range of opportunities for the semi sector. If stacked on home routers as a totally separate system, it could significantly cut down the number of cell towers needed. Possibly a real game changer. This could also radically change the landscape of IOT. This plays into TSM which builds the largest variety of chips and technologies. For cable and land line companies this could be a major opportunity to change the competitive landscape. The more channels available to compete, the better for everyone.
