This new chip shows Qualcomm is definitely going into robotics, transportation and many other new areas of growth. I expect this same tech will go into wearable medical, both active and passive, which is the next mega market for higher end, high performance semis/mems. This is but one example of entirely new growth areas for the semi/mems industry and shows the semi industry with imagination has large head room for growth.
