IP wars are here and now and it's time to wake up and take them seriously. Everything from building chips to hacking IP is part of this war and make no mistake about it, it has become a war in numerous fields with numerous fronts. The IP that can be put on a single thumb drive can be worth billions or be used to steal or control billions. This involves IP from financial systems, military, semis, social network manipulation to raw research. This is a multifront war, make no mistake about it and IP is at the core, which is where it should be dealt with. Technology has changed the world's social and economic structure r dically in the last few years and it has also changed and created new battlefields that are even more critical and wide-reaching than traditional battlefields. Like they say, "Generals like to fight the last wars, not the future wars". It's time to wake up to a world where tech has moved the battlefield into new areas and directions. This is the war we can't afford to lose. As with all wars, diplomacy is far cheaper and less destructive. War is the ultimate form of failure and the sooner the players realize this, the better. Semis are at the heart of these conflicts and the battlefield is played on the fields built and supported by semis, so this is the place to start. I can only hope that wisdom and collaboration can prevail. Any thoughts or comments solicited and appreciated.
