Intel Arc Alchemist desktop graphics cards can be delayed till the end of Q2 or early Q3 2022

Intel has been working on this line of products for a long time. I don't believe all of sudden Intel found out that their software drivers are not good enough. I'm wondering the real reasons behind this delay.

This article is a bit weird -- the charts released March 30th said they would release Desktop GPUs "Summer 2022".. which includes early Q3.

That said they probably are facing a lot of driver opportunities.. they're entering an industry that still has a lot of specific AMD and Nvidia optimizations in their software, and the APIs have so much complexity it's a nightmare to get everything to run well. For example, see the "64KB demos" in the PC Computer / Demo scene.. they show amazing graphics and visuals with only 64 kilobytes of code.. but to work those demos require >1GB of Nvidia/AMD drivers and other software to work..

Anyway I would like to know more about what's really going on and why this keeps shifting right..
