Intel and Nvidia go head to head in AI

I hope Nvidia and others are able to stay in the game and prevent the type of monopoly we had for years in processors with the Wintel domination. I feel AI is going to a much more competitive game since there are more players and the high end contract fabs now exist to level the playing field. Wintel will never have the tilted playing field it had in early processors, it's a different world. The TSM/Samsung competition among others has not only sped up progress, but diversity. This will also work in reverse where Wintel plans on providing competition in VR.

Forbes Welcome

That might depend on there being no essential patents that only one player has. There are things you can do to make old software run on new platforms that are better suited to AI and VR and owning that would give someone a big advantage.
