How will AI companies deal with power/bandwidth challenges?

The whole AI ecosystem is and will be a massive consumer of power, but band width. The power consumption and associated heat/air conditioning costs are going to climb as implementation and penetration expand into ever more areas. Any thoughts on how these challenges will be dealt with will be appreciated. Will the power consumption be lowered, the heat recycled for other uses or will novel approaches be applied? Thanks
