The Surgeon Will Skype You Now
As with anything the tech world touches, it will get better, cheaper, improve procedures and grow the market. I hope regulation doesn't drive this industry out of the US. We already rank 37th in quality of medical care at the highest cost of any country by far. I hope lawyers don't trump technology. The same legal problems will attach themselves to any robotic action such as self driving cars. We need our laws to keep up with our technology and if we don't, the US could kill the benefits many new technologies could bring and give countries that do adapt their laws a new lead in many technologies that we might not get back for decades at a huge detriment to our economy and world leadership. Already US medical is destroying our economy with a staggering Medicare unfunded liability of tens of trillions and growing fast. The future is ours, but only if we want to adapt and grow.
