Dr. Paolo Gargini of Intel

Does anybody know what happened to Dr. Paolo Gargini of Intel. Out of the blues he seemed to have taken retirement decision, but there are other rumors going around. He is a very respectable engineer and was an Intel Senior Fellow, so retirement decision was little unwarranted especially rumors are that he had opinion difference with mgmt.
