Diamond Magnetic Field Sensors, Semi Manufacturing Tech Needed ?

Arthur Hanson

Magnetocardiographs are hugely expensive machines that are used to track the magnetic fields through muscles and nerves without touching the human body. Right now the machines that do this are hugely expensive and this technology of using diamonds as sensors by using the nitrogen dispersed in diamond structures shows the promise of reducing the cost of these machines to less than 150K, which is the price point at the market could be very large. This would open up a whole new area of diagnostics of the human body far further than it has been. I'm also sure this could be used in many other scientific pursuits also, including diagnostics is several areas of the semi industry and that semi manufacturing processes already out there could make this possible. Maybe someone in the community is familiar with this area of technology that could be applied to this challenge.
