I'm having trouble parsing this sentence.52 Billion can with more certainty by a battle group to park in the East China Sea. The days Virginia vs Battle Group would make for what our strategy is, broken next LOL.
I don't agree. The US had a leading role in making Japan, Germany, and Italy peers after WWII. Vietnam is now a major trade partner. I think the US had a lot to do with making South Korea a major economic power in multiple areas. We're not perfect, but I think the good outweighs the bad. Mostly.IMHO the current narrative of making China big and bad is western driven. They need bad enemies to rally the country, China and Russia too. US can’t accept an equal or rising equal, especially one that has a different ideology.
They have a funny way of showing restraint, constantly buzzing Taiwan and flying spy balloons over US territory. Oh, I forgot the balloons were mistakes!China has shown great restraint. Imagine what China could have done after the US shut down HiSilicon and Huawei and than all the tech embargo. It was an economic castration of China. Imagine if Taiwan, OPEC or others did this to the US what would the US do.
As for OPEC, they're way ahead of you. Remember the Oil Embargo of 1973? I was in high school. What a PITA. It took the US quite a while to respond, but advanced drilling technology saved the day and the US became the world's biggest oil producer. Who would have thought? Peak Oil and all. To be honest, I'm concerned that we might get the same result in fab equipment from China. It might take a while, but the US usually gets an F in history.
Right. We support China's entrance into the WTO and what happened? Especially WRT IP? If we're bullies we got a bloody nose anyway.US bullies because it still can, I can see why other ideologies are hell bent to match or be independent
